Hotcam has sat at the heart of the television production community for over twenty-five years. We have provided equipment, crew, logistics and technical solutions for many of the UK’s best known TV shows, as well as countless concerts and events.
We pride ourselves on having a reputation for reliability, strong customer relations and understanding the nuances of technical television production. Our clients know they aren’t just hiring equipment from us, but also an on-location culture of approachable expertise, of team working, and creative problem solving.
Our specialist camera, audio, comms, systems, logistics and servicing departments ensure that all aspects of our client’s productions are supported. Our team of experienced project managers will work with you at any level, on any project, whether single camera documentary or complex multicamera systems installation abroad.
Alongside our reputation for building bespoke flypacks, our fleet includes three OB vehicles; Gladys, Beryl and Ivy (named after our Grans, of course), which we regularly deploy on entertainment and music OBs across Europe.
The TV community is at the heart of everything we do. We are an Albert supplier and are certified Carbon Neutral. We are honoured to officially sponsor BAFTA, as well as support the Film & TV Charity and The Teenage Cancer Trust.
As an independently owned business, we understand that our responsibilities extend beyond making great television. With over forty-five staff, half of whom are trainees and apprentices, we want to ensure that the next generation of television makers get off on the right foot.
Recently, we partnered with Little Bird People Development to provide structured personal development and management training programmes for our team, and ensure that we set an example by holding a spotlight on welfare and mental health in an industry that famously struggles to do so.
We will continue to drive a progressive agenda. Recently, our first in-house mental health first aider earned their qualifications, and we have made great progress addressing gender inequality in grass roots technical television roles. As a long-standing company we know that our actions today will have a bearing on the future shape and tone of the industry – change starts now.
